Linsanity

S is the male roommate that was with the whole lot of girls in the one room. He is an amazing friend and he loves life. The first time I really met S was when we walked into the spare room of the old dorm and he was bench pressing with a suitcase. I was laughing so hard but we share a very common interest about fitness. Anyways, it was really funny, so we were shopping at Taipei Main Station and just browsing around when he said- Jeremy Lin was right by Taipei 101 which was close by to our location. We both jumped at the opportunity to go on an adventure to see if we could meet him.

For those of who you do not know, Jeremy Lin is an American professional basketball player for the Brooklyn Nets of the National Basketball Association. He also helped lead a winning turnaround with the New York Knicks which led to a fan base of “Linsanity”. He is one of the few Asian in the NBA history and he is the first Taiwanese descent to play in the league. It is a very big deal for this to happen!

We literally ran through the Taipei 101 mall after jumping off the MRT to find this Linsanity Event. Off a few blocks of the national monument, there was a large crowd with lots of security. It was a promotional basketball event and Jeremy Lin was playing with a Taiwan basketball team. It was crazy! It was so hard to even get a look inside because they did a very good job of making sure ticketholders were the ones that could get the views. There were crowds standing around the fenced area so S and I were climbing the fence to get a better view. I have no pictures of him but I did actually get to see him play which will be something I will keep in my own memories forever. It was amazing to be part of the Linsanity movement, even if there was a fence in the way- I’LL LOVE YOU FOREVER JEREMY LIN <3.
